We had nothing but positive experiences with DJH. They came out to our property with our realtor to discover how we could situate the house with NO STEPS to get in the front door. Sorted out well-drilling, permits, working around the contractors so we could do some of our own work, made suggestions to make sure there would be enough light and elec. for the workroom in the basement, even got us in touch with our original contractors when we suffered lightning damage a couple years later. I am a subcontractor for David James Homes at their Clarksburg office. I wouldn't recommend them to a customer to build a house no would I encourage anyone to become a subcontractor for them. I've been a couple of months trying to collect on $4000 they owe me from a while back. Clark Ware won't return my calls nor texts, even though the lady at the main office said he would. I dont understand why they wont get back with me but I will continue in whatever manner I must to receive payment.
got a house built by them three years ago. the superviser was never on sight unless i told him i was coming down from NYC. he was to busy doing his own business. workers showed up maybe once a week if lucky. Gutter drains where put in running up hill in spots. I had to contact the owner that you see on tv to come and take a look at the crap work they did. he said he was very sorry for the poor workmanship. i still have items from a list that nobody showes up to fix for over a YEAR. they give a good line of BS. they put the r... read more
We have been in our David James Home going on 5 years. I have called the Winchester VA., at least 3 if not four times concerning my David James 10 year Home Warranty as my basement walls and concrete floor are cracking. David James say we will have someone call you or you can call the Cement Contractor. I advised I paid David James, the warranty is with David James. The Snow family still isn't able to move in. 5 MONTHS after their initial release date. What's worse is that they were given a week's notice of the push back every time - no way to organize that many different temporary housing arrangements.
