Have 2 teenage girls who love the Y and hanging out making healthy habits. Clean and well kept facilities...
I’m disappointed in how the YMCA handled a situation where I raised concerns about feeling emotionally unsafe to use the gym due to a staff member’s retaliatory behavior - both in the facility and online. I asked specific questions about their code of conduct and what protocols exist to support member safety, but was met with vague or non-answers and no action, other than being told to report future incidents. One of my favorite YMCAs in town, along with the MFB Y. love the separate lap pool, the kids pool and slide, and the racquetball courts. Beautiful new locker room for the women, in the process of remodeling the men's.
NOT GOOD AFTER THE REMODELING!!. Sooo sad. It’s very hard and inconvenient to park across the railroad tracks, 2 busy streets and a long walk. Handicapped status won’t help because two parking spots are reserved at this huge facility. The women’s locker has only one handicap shower and only one handicap toilet —- and both were unusable today. Depressing styling is the worst!!!! We lost our lovely sunny locker room for ugly grays, purple and gray-black. It’s soooo sad.
The gym is becoming better and better. The number and assortment of machines and free weights is fantastic, the layout makes sense, and the availability of multiple pools, basketball courts, sauna, steam room, and hot tub, are hard to find in other gyms. Machines are regularly maintained and updated, with the latest and greatest, as well as regular replacing of pads and linings.
