This doctor does not take patients concerns seriously and fails to provide attentive care. My husband was referred by his PCP after hyperextending his knee, which clearly indicated a possible ACL tear. Despite this, the doctor dismissed his symptoms, refused to order an MRI, and relied solely on an X-ray before diagnosing it as a “strain.” He then required my husband to begin physical therapy without first confirming an accurate diagnosis, which made little medical sense and delayed proper treatment. My experience with Dr. Cortese exceeded expectations. He listened, examined and laid out options for my Rotator Cuff problems. In the end I underwent surgery to correct a torn bicep and subscapula tendon. From the prep to postoperative care he was without a doubt the best choice for me. If you’re under 50 this doctor will not listen nor take you seriously. This doctor insinuated I was lying about my pain even after multiple scans showing problems in my knee. This doctor refuses to biopsy an unknown cyst in my knee and refuses to do anything about my meniscus which is near gone in some places of my knee. Why? Because of my age. I was referred to Dr. Cortese by Dr. Bear, and I am glad I found him. He did an MRI first and found that I had both rotator cuffs torn. He has helped me a lot, and I appreciate his kindness. I am thankful that he is my Dr.
