I've been flying for over 25 years now and I bought my first pair of DC headsets which was the 10-20 in 1997 at the beginning of my commercial training. I used them hard for about 10 years during which time they went through hell and back and never faltered; they even got stolen in Africa and then recovered as the thieves threw them away while fleeing on foot. I bought my first aviation headset (David Clark H10-13.4) over 25-years ago; its performance has exceeded my expectations (it gets a lot of use) After 20-years I sent my headset in for factory tuning and reconditioning, it came back looking and working like a new headset. When I recently called the factory downtown Worcester, to inquire about getting a replacement microphone protector / muff they sent me two new ones, which I received within a couple of days. Fabulous company to deal with. On my first flight of an airplane I bought which included a set of noise canceling headsets, I scuttled my rear-end over the headset I had left on the seat. It broke apart and I tried to repair the disconnected wires myself. Well you can guess how that went. They were an older pair so I figured I would just get a new one.
