Dr David Spain actually saw me at UofL July 14, 1998 after being shot in a robbery I came in to the trauma unit and my family was informed I probably would not make it after being shot in femoral artery while working at a convenient store the odds were definitely against I coded many times but Dr Spain never gave up hope he placed a gortex graft approximately 3 inches long in my femoral artery and I was in a coma for 6 weeks.
