I have had symptoms of trauma and LDs since childhood. My parents were trying to find me help and consulted David Gold for assistance. He convinced them to send me to a shady wilderness program in Utah, followed by a lock down program, and then a boarding school. All 3 have a lengthy documented histories of abusive and unethical practices and were all owned by the same corporation which is known for giving kickbacks to educational consultants for selling their programs to parents. I am in my thirties now, but I saw Dr. Gold as a teenager and a young adult. I was experiencing many adverse life events and serious difficulties at the time; I often struggled to afford sessions. Dr. Gold worked with me and was extremely patient, accommodating, and generous. His focus was always more on helping than making money. As desperate parents we who'd sign anything to get help for our son. Our relationship with our son is even worse. He's not talking to us now. In spring of 2021, my husband and I went to him in hopes of getting our son into an overnight program. Right out the bat he charged me $8,000 and said this is a flat fee that covers unlimited visits with him.
