When I was hospitalized at Highlands Behavioral Health Institute, Dr. Fohrman was the lead psychiatrist for our unit. He pulled me aside for a meeting (as he does for all students), where he told me I had three disorders: antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, & narcissistic personality disorder. I didn’t feel heard when speaking with him about my child’s hospitalization. He constantly interrupted me and wouldn’t let me speak. His tone was condescending. He initially began telling me about another patient hospitalized (called my child by the wrong name, gender, and told me the wrong circumstances for why my child was admitted). Dr. Fohrman is an amazing physician. I feel in some respects that he may have actually saved my life. He is an expert of his craft and will be missed.
Unprofessional and shaming. I had such a terrible experience seeing him, I was forced to interrupt treatment and switch doctors. I would highly dissuade anyone from seeing him.
Dr. Fohrman is excellent at explaining complex disorders in an understandable way. He is easy to relate to and didn't push one treatment over alternatives.
