Absolutely Amazing! Max and Gill are the most honest and the best Mechanics I have ever had the pleasure of having fix my vehicles. Dauntless Transmissions is an excellent shop I recently took my 2003 Lincoln LS into Dauntless Transmission after receiving a significantly higher quote to fix my transmission (slipping ,jerking between 20-45 mph) from another transmission specialist . Brief conversation over the phone So I've been having trouble with my clutch for the past couple of months. I called Leith Honda (who fixed my clutch last June) and they said my warranty had expired so I called Dauntless after reading the online reviews. I spoke with Gil and I must say he's a pretty cool dude. He explained the problem and even gave me instructions on how to fix the problem temporarily so I wouldn't have to have the car towed. I'll report back after the service....
Took them 3 chances to get it almost right I called many shops in and around Raleigh and asked them all the same 2 questions. 1) How quickly could you have the truck back (it's a work truck and usually runs every day) and 2) WORST CASE scenario, what is my maximum cost. Obviously, people have a problem with 'worst case'. I got ranges of ''$1600 to $2200'' to which I would say, ''So $2200 is worst case?''. Some would say yes, some would say ''or a little more''. Go to Dauntless, they'll take care of you!!! Now that I've gone to Dauntless, I won't ever go to another mechanic AGAIN, let alone a dealer. I'm spoiled now that I've met Gill and Max. I can't believe it -- there are still honest, good people who take pride in their work! And Gill and Max live by their word. I have a Honda HRV that was experiencing transmission problems and I was getting mixed messages from the Honda dealerships. I was recommended to call Gil at Dauntless for his advice. Even though I was not going to take my car there, he was so helpful and full of information that helped me to understand the way forward on my car - the kind of information I was not getting from Honda. When my 4X4 recently experienced manual transmission problems, my first thought was OH OH, where do I go and not get soaked. After reading all the glowing testimonials about Dauntless, I decided to give them a try and I am so glad that I did.
