I’ve been bouncing between barbers and stylists for years, never quite finding the right fit. Then I met Darrell Barrett. At our first appointment, I threw him a curveball and asked for a haircut I used to wear back in the ’80s and ’90s. Something no one else has been able to get right. He nailed it. I called 5 times this week and left a message and nothing! Website says "walk-ins welcome" but when I finally went in person the door is locked, there are new hours, and they no longer accept walk-ins. If they don't accept phone calls and don't accept walk-ins, are they still in business? I guess I need a new hair cutter? ☹️ It's a shame because this was one of the few salons I felt comfortable visiting... The staff was so nice.
This was my first time at Darrell Barrett salon and it was a wonderful experience. I hadn’t been able to get my haircut for a while and parts were growing out uneven so my previous style just wasn’t working anymore. I had a major life event to attend that afternoon and needed to look my best. Rosemary listened to all my needs before cutting and styling my hair into a new look that was easy for me to manage and made me feel great. I received lots of compliments later that day as well. I don't have enough words to adequately express how great this place is. Aside from "normal" expectations of clean, efficient, etc., each employee (including Darnell) is friendly, knowledgeable, patient (I have a great deal of trouble expressing what I would like to happen) and attuned. Suggestions are made and it feels like listening to an artist's advice to help get the best result.
