Best skilled and friendliest surgeon I have ever had the pleasure of being treated by. He's great at explaining what going to happen, risks and outcomes and honestly sets expectations then delivers far better than you were expecting! Great bedside manner, confident and supportive . I interviewed, the top colorectal specialist in Portland. Dr. Herzig's team took the extra step to take an MRI before seeing me which resulted in a stage 2 tumor instead of the originally diagnosed stage 1 tumor. This changed the protocol of my treatment and could have saved my life. Dr. Herzig is very detailed & intelligent but he has a great personality and can translate the information so I can make quality decision for the direction of my treatment. The whole OHSU staff has been phenomenal.
