I can’t say enough how much I appreciate Dr. Stein! I came to his team desperate for help after years of being dismissed by Doctors and nurses at Aurora. He was eager to help find out what was wrong. He was extremely kind and compassionate the day of my procedure. I spent years trying to figure out what was wrong with Aurora. One procedure and he found the chronic GI illness I had all along. I am now on treatment and getting my life back. I can’t thoroughly put into words the gratitude I feel for him and his team.
This rating is based on getting an appointment with Dr Stein. I was referred to him by my Urologist and basically was told he does not see patients because he is busy and only sees Crohns Disease patients. However, his profile page on MCW says excepting new patients. They have internal policy to not schedule patients unless they have Crohns Disease. Very caring doctor and allows you the time to discuss anything and everything pertaining to your care. The staff is also very quick to respond when it comes to questions you might have.
Terrible How can MCW hire people like this? Poor medical knowledge. Never controlled my Crohn's and when I got C difficile he recommended pro-biotics. I spent hundreds on them and when I finally went to Chicago for help they told me they didn't work in IBD or C Diff and even the GI guidelines don't recommend them. What is going on at Froedtert? You hire doctors that don't even know about their society guidelines? I would recommend U of Chicago, Rush or Northwestern.
Dr Stein was courteous, professional, and efficient. The care team did their best to provide excellent and prompt care when I needed it. I would certainly recommend him and his team to anyone who has GI issues.
