I visited Dr. Hwang for very bad itching problem and very dry ears that I have had for few months. From the beginning it was obvious that Dr. Hwang was in a big rush and truly, did not care about my problem. I felt like I was a money making object for him. He totally avoided answering my questions about what were the causes of itchy ears and what do do about it (even though I asked him a few times). Dr Huang listened well and provided options to treat the condition. He was too quick to recommend surgery and did not mention other options that did not involve general anesthesia and have been successful treating the underlining issue (I eventually went to get another opinion). For future patient visibility: His Office has a policy that requires the patient to pay upfront the amount of deductible with no regard for the deductible being already paid to the hospital center or anesthesiologist. I had sinus surgery with Dr Hwang to fix my sinuses, because I got sinus headaches and also wanted to be able equalize better/more easily when I go scuba diving (I’m a regular diver). I had a 4-part surgery with Dr HWANG: 1) turbinate reduction, 2) balloon sinuplasty for my Eustachian tubes, 3) straightened my deviated septum, and 4) enlarged/ reshaped one of my right sinuses that was partially blocked and kept clogging. I wont recommended Dr. Hwang to anyone. My song suffered ear rings and saw dried blood in his ear. Dr. Hwang did not even bother to look into his ear. His assistant did hearing test and pressure. Dr. Hwang only read the test report and told my soon everything is fine and the ring will go away soon and sent my son home without looking my son's ear. We expect visiting a doctor can tell us the cause of the blooding. Apparently this visiting was a waste.
Yes, I have recommended and they are now patients as well. I was having frequent nosebleeds. Dr Hwang cauterized, it was quick, I felt nothing, no pills needed at home. The whole experience was painless. Nice staff, filled paperwork out on line, precautions in place, a good day!

After a miserable weekend with one nostril packed to stop a persistent nosebleed; I followed up with Dr. Hwang at the Reston office. I found all of the ladies in the reception area very helpful, caring and in less than 10 minutes I was escorted back where Dr. Hwang would see me. Another 10 minutes and he came in and quickly assessed the problem nose vein and chemically cauterized it. Dr. Hwang saw me promptly and answered all of my questions. He and his physicians assistant were very kind and courteous.
