Beware…Dishonest poorly trained employees. My very low mileage vehicle came back the first time unfinished, the obvious mouse problem was not solved and I paid over $1,500 for what was said to be done and wasn’t. Car goes in a second time, clicking from steering wheel fixed but the initial mouse problem only partially corrected, I payed over $900 thinking all is well only to discover brand new damaged to vehicle…(see list below.) I’ve never experienced such half a** shoddy work! So unfortunate these people run a business thi... read more
I dropped my car off at 8:30am and told it would be done by 10am. It was a scheduled appointment, after 11:30 I texted the number provided to me without a response, I was hung up on twice after trying to get into contact with someone, found a ride back over to the dealership to get some answers, berated by a “supervisor” saying it was my fault that they’re backed up. My check engine light was on and they charged me close to $800 to pick it up at 5pm and the light is still on. But that’s “warranty work” ? The service was not ... read more
My 91-year-old mother brought her car there for brakes they replaced two rear brakes and two rear rotors gave her a bill over $800 this is outright highway robbery charged her $239 for brake fluid service I don't know what they did for $239 $300 in Parts $400 in labor they must use Gold Line brake pads I for one will never let my mother go back there again these people are outright robbers they should be ashamed to charge that kind of price for literally two pads and two rotors and one container of a brake fluid
Business response:
**** ******* was treated with the same courtesy and professionalism with which we treat all our customers. She was offered two solutions which were explained in detail, and she appeared satisfied with her choice and the work performed.
Shocking this business gets an A+ rating from BBB. Makes me wonder. Here is my sad tale - another to add to this dismal service dealership -excerpt from first letter I sent to Honda America on January 8, 2025, as well as to Gen Manager (whom I've never had a response from): On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, I brought my 2019 Kona EV to Danbury Hyundai Genesis, 102 Federal Road, Danbury CT, for a routine 35,000 maintenance check-up. The vehicle was in fine working order, and I had no concerns. After receiving a call notifying my c... read more
Business response:
We understand this situation is very frustrating for you, and are sorry we could not have returned your vehicle to you already. As the only work performed involved the multi-point inspection and brake service, there was nothing done which would have affected the batteries. Although our technician's are certified to perform service and repairs on EVs, we must defer to the Hyundai engineers in regards to the specifics of the battery failure. Unfortunately, we cannot be more specific as to the arrival of the replacement battery... read more
I have filed a complaint about Danbury Hyundai’s business practices. In July 2024, I saw a listing for a 2021 Hyundai Kona EV on Autos.com for $20,995. I visited the dealer and talked to a salesman. I will not name him as I am pretty sure what I am about to describe is standard operating procedure at Danbury Hyundai. We haggled about the price for a while and settled on $20,500. I was sent over to the finance department, as I planned to finance about 75% of the cost of the car. The finance representative proclaimed I would ... read more
I know they say everything is posted on website…but $1,299 “document fee” along with $300 registration and pumping up the banks interest rate are adding crazy amounts. In the process of looking into stories from other buyers online but this seems very questionable to me. Not that it matters, but this was the fourth car in 12 years we bought from them so no loyal customers treatment here I am guessing. I know we always hear “buyers beware” but you just would like to be treated fairly in every economic environment. *** * <styl... read more

Our full pricing and fees are posted on our website, all terms were reviewed with you, and you were given the same options we offer all our customers. It is absolutely your prerogative to reject our terms and take your business elsewhere if you are unsatisfied, but we would point out we do sell more vehicles than any other Connecticut Hyundai dealer, so we feel we are offering fair and competitive terms. Good dealership with good people. Had a problem with a spare tire, or lack there of in a new purchase and the general manager got one for me within days no questions asked. Like any car purchase, you should look at all the fees involved and understand what different dealerships charge so there are no surprises later. I will be needing a few more cars soon and this dealership will definitely be on my list. Good luck in your car search!
Business response:
Thank you, it was our pleasure to serve you
