Negative 5! Heffez separated my spinal cord from scar tissue from two previous back surgeries. Didn't answer any questions about my brain being pulled on by my spinal cord or anything else, then proceeded to give me a script for a drug I have been allergic to for years and possibly fatal. None of his team, surgery personnel of Heffez or himself looked at allergies. In too much of a hurry cranking out surgeries like a factory assembly line. Heffez did my husband’s surgery for Chiari malformation and when my husbands neck became worse after surgery and we made an in person appointment, he was a royal jerk and didn’t want to listen to my husband. I’m pretty sure Heffez messed up on the surgery. I wouldn’t recommend him at all. A doctor that treats you like trash is no good. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND
Short, ill prepared and dismissive. Implied that we shouldn't have wasted his time without a referral, although we WERE referred (in writing) by TWO different physicians. We got off the teleconference disappointed and insulted.
I have mixed feelings about this doctor. The only piece of advice I would strongly advise is to get everything in writing. Especially AFTER surgery care and plans.
