I had virtual Visit with Dr Guyer and I had I told needed and what was going on he listened
Dr. G needs to retire! He is not up to date on modern methods and treatments. Misogynistic and disrespectful to patients.
The only Dr I have seen (and there were many) that really understands what I am going through without having these issues himself. He actually described my inner feelings better than I could. (chronic anxiety disorder)
Met him in outpatient partial after years of awful treatment and assumptions by other dr's. 1. I was in denial and had walled off my trauma and abuse 2. I didn't feel safe or comfortable enough with anyone to explain details or the severity of what happened, to get help after my mental break. Fear of being judged, dismissed or not believed because "Wellll C'mon now...that was a few yrs of your life during your teens, over 20 yrs ago - how come it was never talked about before now?" -ETC. He actually listened, assessed, remem... read more
I would love to tell you about my visit but Dr Guyer refused my case for no reason. He doesn’t want to help everyone, unfortunately.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Guyer for more than 5 years. He is a very good doctor and the staff is excellent. I could not imagine ever switching. He is so knowledgeable about pharmaceutical psych meds and has helped me stabilize so I can function. That is everything when it comes to mental illness. He and his staff are very very good.
Went to dr Guyer years ago. Helped me immensely. Didn’t know he was still in practice in 2019 until my friend told me she sees him. Been to multiple drs I the last 5 years that didn’t help me. Saw dr Guyer and on the third visit I got straightened around. Very thankful
Like all psychiatrists that I've seen, Dr. Guyer does not typically have long appointments with his patients, HOWEVER he does spend as much time as needed. For example, if the visit is a simple Rx refill, the visit might be 10 minutes, but if there's a larger problem, he might take 30 minutes or more - whatever it takes - to help. The appointments are easy to schedule once you become a patient (the first visit - intake - of COURSE takes a while since they need a thorough history!)
After scheduling an appt 6 weeks out, I arrived 10 min early as asked, to fill out paper work.I was told the first appt would take an hour, which I was not told prior to the appt. I was irritated because I went on my lunch break. After waiting 40 minutes, I informed the receptionist I needed to reschedule for a later date because I had to go back to work. I was informed Dr. Guyer wouldn't see later me because I left in the "middle of my appointment" - which was solely spent waiting to be seen
