Honestly, after just one lesson I learned so much about my voice. I already feel more confident in my ability to sing, even though I know I still have room to grow. That single lesson greatly improved my understanding of my voice and my breath control. He’s an amazing teacher who really knows his stuff and has a deep understanding of many different styles of music. He’s also very knowledgeable across a wide range of subjects. Posting this review 3 years too late. Damon was my first ever vocal teacher. Three years is a very long time ago, and three years ago, I was a very different person then. I was a shy, very young person in a new city. I was struggling with my finances and unfortunately had to stop taking classes with Damon. I LOVE Damon! I had crippling performance anxiety that kept me from singing for years at a time. I knew I could sing but my confidence and self love had been shattered at an early age and after so many years of it controlling me I had pretty much given up on ever believing in myself enough to sing outside of my car. Damon is a very wonderful, patient, and passionate voice instructor. I started with him back the latter part of 2015 in order to prepare for the Dallas Opera Chorus auditions. He uses the Bel Canto method of which I had never taken before from previous voice instructors. I have been able to sing effortlessly through his teaching methods and have been well prepared for my auditions of which I've had second call backs for.
