I respect and praise the journalism of the newspaper, however, their nontransparent accounting system and poor customer service lead me to finally cancel my paper subscription after many years.

Trying to cancel your subscription is the worst. Impossible to get a person on the phone and “if” you do they are terribly rude.

You can sign up online for digital service, but you can not cancel. You will have to call to cancel and they will bill you to the next billing cycle, and this is if they actually cancel your service. Your best move is not to sign up in the first place so save yourself the billing headache. If you can sign up online, you should be able to cancel online as well, but we all know why you can't.

I wanted to be sure to add my awful experience being subscribed to the Dallas Morning News to the volume of other reviews here. I'll briefly mention what went well and what I liked - the stories were good and informative (I subscribed for Cowboys news, yes have mercy on my soul), were frequent and well-researched. It was easy to sign up for the teaser deal of 6 months of digital news for $1.
