I highly recommend DAL Audio for David’s exemplary skills with turntables. He recently assembled a new in the box George Merrill Hi Fi Gem turntable for me. With a separately purchased complex German made Arche’ headshell, and a London Decca jubilee phono cartridge. The Arche’ has an unusual series of adjustments in order to dial in the cartridge alignment on the head shell, which is complicated, requiring an open mind and a very high skill set. Dave at DAL audio is a great guy who does excellent work. I called in asking about replacing all the capacitors in a vintage Marantz 2275 and he talked me out of it and said I should only do the work that needs to be done. He's a fountain of knowledge and not only does my receiver sound great, I'm more educated about it than I was before. He has a great little retail shop as well and I purchased a restored, era appropriate direct drive Technics turntable to replace an older, low end unit I've been using. Had a lengthy conversation with Dave today & he was friendly & courteous & did not rush me. He took the time to explain the benefits of a pre-owned unit DAL has for sale. I certainly hope to do future business, as they are based just west of Cleveland, Ohio & I am based out of Central Pennsylvania. Just wanted to share my experience with DALAUDIO. I ordered a chassis from Dave for a DIY project. When I received my order, Dave had thrown in some extras, free of charge, in his words, "in the spirit of DIY." Dave has since sent me an extra screw that I, through my own clumsiness, lost. I cannot tell you how impressed and grateful I am, both for the quality of what I purchased from DALAUDIO, but even more so in the service I have received from Dave. I've had a pair of DAL Audio LM3875 chip amps for years. I have been shocked again & again at the far more expensive amps they beat. The latest was a highly-regarded audiophile 45 SET amp that costs $3000 new. They will power almost anything, too - they do a great job even on my huge Quad 2905 ESLs.
