Was looking to go to a springs without fighting I 70 traffic. Also with camping close by. Dakota Hot springs fit the bill. Camping on the property and a hot springs pool was wonderful. People were nice and laid back. Perfect New Years weekend. Will go there again.
It's where I go to relax, to release the tension and stiff and tired muscles, and just to get away from it all. The clothing optional part is the best because then you can be really free! So far I think I've been there about 20 times in the last eight months and have enjoyed every time.
I love Dakota , the water is wonderful! BUT there smoking policy is disgraceful. They allow people to smoke ANYWHERE they want. People pile in to the cabana and light up the cigarettes. So people who DON'T smoke CAN'T enjoy the cabana. The cabana is the only warm place to relax outside the water. It is disgusting to walk into and get smacked in the face with cigarette smoke. Had a wonderful time with my woman
My family loves Dakota Hot Springs and have been going for years. It's close to Colorado Springs compared to the other hot springs. Its rustic, not too terribly glamorous but the water is great, the natural hot springs smell good, they have a family day and are open later in the day and until 10:00 PM. Floating under the stars year round is an incredible experience.
