After three visits she told me to "just be tough. Everybody is going through hard times." I haven't been back since.
Went to her when I was 13-14 for various trauma-related issues. She's judgmental and very quick to assume things about you, your relationship with family, etc. I began talking about something that bothered me and she interrupted me and said "I don't want to hear that, that's depressing." So.. what's the point of being a counselor if you don't want to hear "depressing" things. It made me fearful of therapists and made me never want to see one again. Everyone will have their own opinion. But, from my personal experience I’ve been to her and she has been nothing but excellent. She’s very knowledgeable in her field and listens and you can tell she actually cares about her clients. I recommend her to anyone.
This woman is judgemental and argumentive. I shared my childhood trauma with authority figures and current anxieties about this crisis culture. She gave her political opinions, rolled her eyes, and told me I don't listen to anyone. This was my very first visit. I think she's a danger to emotionally vulnerable people and should consider another profession.
