VA does a great job as a whole, definitely under staffed and lacking resources. Cape Coral does a great job, Joy is a Saint, whoever the woman is in charge of answering the sleep clinic phone in Tampa intentionally puts vets on hold for over an hour; I’m guessing in hopes that people simply hang up. I have been coming to Bay Pines VA Medical Center since 2004. Although no hospital is perfect, it has been one of the best VA Hospitals I have been, and even better than some of the civilian hospitals in the area. I feel bad for my fellow veterans who have had a bad experiences; however, mine has been great.
This is the best Healthcare I have ever received, civilian, military or other VA in other cities. Every department has been great. They seem to genuinely care. Ample parking in this compound of a medical center with very nice facilities.
Recently transferred to the Port Charlotte CBOC. What an experience. MSA and lab staff excellent. But that is where it ends. Nurse and doctor were condescending and in the end wrong on direction of treatment and assisting with social issues. She actually hung up on me when I questioned her. VA has many great people. But this place has to many that are arrogant wrong and believe the VA exists for them. That this is somehow their community service.
