This is my first review of any product. I can honestly say these are the best cupcakes in town. I was pleasantly surprised! The cake is light and moist and the buttercream icing is to die for -- melts in your mouth -- a perfect balance of flavors and textures and sweetness, without being sugary and heavy. I am more than excited to write a review for this bakery and give it 5 stars. First of all, the cream cheese icing will make you literally consider 'SLAPPING YO MAMA' LOL. Seriously, I consider myself a gourmet - cupcake connoisseur. I have traveled the country and have sampled cupcakes from countless bakeries, and by far Cupcake Paradise Irmo is the best!! The signature paradise cupcake is my favorite. In fact, I request a double scoop of cream cheese icing and pretend I'm in "Paradise." It's just THAT AMAZING!!!
Well I am from LA where there are phenomenal cupcakeries all over the place. I have been craving one since I moved here about a year ago. I have been to a few places around the Columbia area and have been very dissappointed, so when I saw this place I was expecting the same thing, but I really wanted a cupcake so I gave it a try anyway. Went to this place for cupcakes after work and OMG!! I had a apple cinanamon, red velvet, and one of their yesterdays favorite. The red velvet and apple was soo moist and it actually taste like real cake, you can not pay me to go back down town and get that walmart cake they call homemade. My yesterdays cake was even good!!!
Best cake I've had in a long time. This will be my new cupcake spot.
The red velvet cupcake that I purchased was extremely dry. I knew that I was going to be disappointed when I looked at the top of the cupcake and saw that the edges looked crispy. Oddly enough, when I bit into the top of the cupcake, it tasted a lot like baked macaroni and cheese. For $3.00 per cupcake, I was disappointed and would rather make the drive downtown to Cupcake on Lincoln St.
