Very knowledgeable and skilled doctor in neurosurgery! He is very busy and must rely on his PA’s for follow ups but communication seems to be very good among their team. Highly recommend!!
One of if not the Worst experience of my life. Got infection in spinal cord from first surgery which happened in middle of the night when scheduled at 9am! Then had to have “emergency “ surgery two weeks later to clean up the infection- again I. The middle of the night after sitting in ER for 3 days!! I wouldn’t let him touch my dog! Came out worse than I went in. Disabled now!
The best! My daughter has Chiari Malformation I. We are from Mississippi. Mississippi pediatric neurosurgery completely missed her need for emergency surgery and thankfully our pediatrician sent us to Ochsner. Dr. Bui is absolutely the best surgeon. After decompression surgery, she?s pain free and has her quality of life back!! We are beyond thankful and highly recommend!!
Doctor Bui has taken great care of my family and I. He preformed emergency brain surgery on me back on April 3, 2018. And the surgery to put my skull back on, on June 28.
Waited for over an hour past my appointment time only to be rushed and have my questions dismissed. Can’t comment on his surgical skills but after my office visit I’m definitely not letting him perform surgery on my spine. Lacks the kindness and compassion I need to see in a surgeon in order for me to put my spine/life in their hands.

He was very nice and respectful. His staff was awesome. He was a little rushed but overall? good.
Spent maybe 10 minutes with me after waiting in the treatment room for over an hour with zero updates from his staff until I peeked my head out of the door to ask. He didn't really listen to me and was setting me up for a surgical procedure without telling me any real knowledge or giving me the opportunity to ask questions. He seemed rushed and just wanting to get to his next appointment. It would have been nice to be treated like a cared for patient and not a pay day.
Blows off patients who are difficult. Keeps telling patients that surgery is soon only to postpone for over three months.
I had two bad discs in my neck with severe arm pain and weakness. Others had recommended a 2 level fusion of my spine but Dr. Bui was able to perform an artificial disc replacement as an outpatient. All of my symptoms are gone and I have been able to maintain full range of motion of my neck. I can not thank Dr. Bui and his team at Ochsner enough. Overall a great experience.
