I would like to say thank you to the staff at East Lawn. Carmen and James were amazing trough the process. My father was passing with cancer and we had a lot of things to take care off, including transporting him to the city. They handled everything, had it all ready to go and when he did pass, there was not a glitch, they were fabulous and made this process so soothing for my family and I.

This location has made a bad time in my families life even worse. I wouldn t use them ever again. Now I have to be concerned if they have given away my mothers (who pasted away in Oct) or my personal information. They also took money for services and haven t to date provided either of the services. All I can say is run away from this funeral home. Try any other funeral home but this one. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x... read more

We used Ellis for many years for services of family members. The latest experience was a nightmare. Will never use Ellis. After losing someone very dear to us, they allowed non-family members to step in push her family to the side, giving instructions for all of the arrangements. Not a single true blood relative was seated or acknowledged as family. I won t go into too much detail, but the way they handled things, it is almost as though anyone off the street can come in, give false information and tell them anything and they... read more

I just wish they took better care of the cementery..The grass needs mowing in some area all the time ,a lot of the headstones are covered with grass ,when they weed eat they just leave the clippings on the headstones time after time so there is dried clippings under the fresh clippings..it is not being very well maintained.

I am writing this review months after my father's death in August 2011. I wanted to be sure I did not cloud the issue with my new grief. The director greeted us sporting unprofessional attire in wrinkled khaki pants and a short-sleeved golf polo shirt. He directed us to a round table in the main lobby; offering us no privacy. The doors in the lobby had fingerprint smudges and the window sills next to the table were covered in cobwebs with various decomposing insects and spiders. The director has a 'tick', at which when nervo... read more

My fathers ashes were buried at Eastlawn in February, 2010. After several frustrating meetings with the incompetent cemetary staff and "sales pitches" were were receiving, we were finally able to finalize the burial. Unfortunately, the actions from Eastlawn staff after the burial have proved to be just as disappointing. Their philosophy of compassion, caring, sympathy, etc. is far from the truth. Just a warning to anyone who would like to bury a loved one in Eastlawn, unless you spend the extra money for a vase for the grave... read more
