I saw this rheumatologist twice over the span of four years. At my first visit, I was told my symptoms were fibromyalgia, that I needed to lose weight, reduce stress, and address my mental health. No autoimmune testing was ordered. I followed the recommendations—lost weight and pursued therapy—yet my symptoms continued. My primary care physician later ran an ANA (which this doctor had repeatedly refused to order), and it came back positive. I have been a patient of Dr. Clawson for a few years. I was diagnosed with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. He has been very thorough with treatment and available anytime I need seen. The office staff and nurses are compassionate and efficient. To date, I have no complaints. I am very grateful for the care I receive at Cumberland Valley Rheumatology.
I want to acknowledge and validate that other people have had wonderful experiences here, however that was not my experience. The staff was polite and friendly and the check-in process was easy and no issues were had. However, this doctor made some extremely dismissive comments throughout my appointment and disregarded my concerns. I did not feel like I was heard or listened to. Dr. Clawson has been my doctor for over 15 years. He has been incredibly kind and listens to me about my various ailments. I have a rare condition that he took seriously from day one and has worked with me to find ways to mitigate the symptoms. I fully trust him and the staff.
Had an appointment scheduled for 3 months and they cancel it the day before letting me know they don't take the insurance. Stated they "just found out". Do NOT recommend.
