Attempted to b a first time donor. Got everything set up and called down to find out if I needed and appointment or what, and was just told to come on it. Drove 30 mins only to b told I had to b there HOURS before closing. Would’ve been great to know. And then when I tried calling in because I thought I better make sure there’s no restrictions on the AM side, they couldn’t b deemed to answer the phone. Update the next morning. I was overdrawn on as the machine malfunctioned and the phlebotomist did not notice and was a very bad experience. She also dropped her glove on the grown on accident and did not grab a new one before putting it on and using it to draw the plasma.
Floor empty again when I was turned away. This time for "low protein reading". Last time it was my iron, and was told my protein looked great tho, just two days ago. And I make sure to stay on top of what I'm eating so I can donate cuz I need the money. I don't ride a bus a hour a half for fun to come out to get denied. And why is it they will not show us the reading on the machine that tests for our iron and protein levels? Took the bus 2 hours here and waited in line for 30 minutes to be turned away (return donor). The woman taking my vitals saw me pull my sweatshirt sleeve up above my elbow for her to take my blood pressure, yet failed to let me know that doing so increases your heart rate reading. Therefore my heart rate was 105 rather than the 103 or 104 that they accept. She informed me I had one more chance to have a heart rate below 105 (and a watched heart rate obviously doesn't drop), and retook it again only to have it be 125 due to t... read more
