This is my lair. Wish I could live here. I asked them and they said no. Whatever. They have great slab.. but if you want more overhang, go to ABP or Mesa Rim. The routes are always challenging. That's good. I'm always up for a challenge.
I've been climbing in Austin for the better part of two years, but only found out yesterday that this gym was right down the street from where I lived. One of the front-desk staff was kind enough to give me a day pass (thank you Sar, you're really cool and I love your energy and enthusiasm), so I at least got to try it out. They have staff members filming only fans content in the restrooms but kicks out my friend for the same thing, weird
Don’t let the recent negative reviews get to you, Crux was my first climbing gym and every time I visit home again I make sure to stop by. The staff has always been nothing but kind, friendly and helpful (seriously, if you need beta they’ve got your back). They also very VERY wonderful to their transgender clientele, I never once had to deal with hearing my deadname even with it on file for my membership.
