Jewish/Kosher Food This market has been around for many years. It caters to the Jewish community in West Hartford and surrounding areas. It provides, premade kosher certified meals as well as many products from Israel. For those that keep a kosher home or have friends/family that do you can rest your mind in knowing that food purchased here will be received and eaten.
Kosher foods and moore This is a great little market. I particularly like the variety (and yes there is a variety) of knishes. The also have kosher meats and sandwiches. At Passover the lines are longer and it does get crowded. In addition to kosher foods there is also a good selection of produce. Pros: Great variety of Kosher foods and meats Cons:Small and a little pricier than the supermarkets.
Kosher food - everyone welcome This is a small grocery store that has been at its current location for around 50 years, if not more. Most of the food is kosher. They have a large meat section, which has better meat than most supermarkets, and a great bakery. They even have kosher sushi. It's the only place around here to carry Ko-Jel year round, something local vegans appreciate. (regular gelatin is an animal by-product) Some things aren't kosher, but most are. not so large While their selection, in the bakery, was fresh and looked updated,I found the deli to be tired looking and of limited selection. Their claim to be the largest kosher supermarket, was somewhat misleading.
Crown Supermarket This little supermarket has been around for a very long time indeed, longer than I have for sure. As the other reviews indicated it is a very nice store. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. The sellection of foods available there is plentiful and should be commended especially as some foods are hard to find elsewhere. The meat is always fresh and properly refridgerated. PROS: Great Deli/ Meat Department CONS: Closed on Fridays and Saturdays
The Crown If you want a unique place to shop then this is the place for you. Located right in the heart of West Hartford, CT this store specialized in ethnic Jewish foods. It is a great for cold cuts, bakery and all other types of foods. Not a disappointment at all.
