I love climbing these two peaks. It's my cardio workout. In the comments are some pics from a 7:00 a.m. hike early December, 2016.
We chose a rainy day to hike the Backside Trail, so we didn't get the full benefit of the view. The trail itself was well-marked and maintained - even in the rain, it wasn't slippery. I am always disappointed to see garbage on trails in state parks - my personal opinion is that anyone who can't be bothered to take their trash with them should be banned from all state parks for a year (not logical, of course, but people are so stinkin' lazy). We look forward to better weather to try some of the other trails next summer.
It is an amazing workout!!! Beautiful views and great trials!!!
To get to the beauty you have to pay the price in sweat. The trails are nice and safe, with varying degrees of difficulty. Come prepared for a high level cardio workout.
