This historic hotel definitely has many up sides (location near the Alamo and Riverwalk shops and plaza attractions). My family stayed here during Spring Break 2011 and we were disappointed with many things: "Mandatory" valet for $18.50 per night, cold powdered eggs for breakfast, small rooms for the $165 per night price. It's partnership with The Menger Hotel across the street allows kids to swim in a heated pool during early spring.
