Creature Confort is great! I started bringing my cat here after I found out that my last vet (VCA) had neglected to mention a particular surgical treatment for my cat because *they* couldn't do it in-house. Creature Comfort gave me far more information about various treatments for Emma, and they didn't push anything on me. I've only used 'Western' medical treatments, and the vets have all been great - explaining the medicines and their dosages. They use lower lighting and towels on the metal tables for the animal's comfort. ... read more

Keep your pet healthy and avoid the slippery slope of medications We went to Jenny Taylor for an assessment of our dog, who is getting older and probably has a little arthritis. (We had already spent a couple hundred dollars with our regular vet, getting a blood panel done, checking her out...) We got advice from Jenny on diet, vaccinations, musculo-skeletal stiffness, and a better idea of how to make our dog healthier. Jenny was terrific, and gave us many ideas on how to improve on what we were doing. She showed us how the ... read more

I Highly Recommend Creature Comfort Holistic Vet Center I have taken 3 of my dogs to Creature Comfort for acupuncture, homeopathy, and chiropractic treatments. My dogs and I were treated with respect and dignity at every appointment. If I had any concerns or questions the vet took time to speak to me and recommend additional reading so I would have a better understanding of their approach. While their prices are higher than a general vet office, their services are specialized. I believe that my dogs enjoyed longer and pain f... read more

I can't believe Creature Comfort would get a bad review... I have two 12 year old black labs that I have brought here for years. One of the dogs has severe skin allergies. Other vets treated the symptoms, Dr. Williams and Dr. Taylor treated the allergies. We changed the dog??s diet and tried holistic and western medicine. Holistic didn't work for her but a combination of western medicine and a human food diet did. The office has given me a list of places to get both western medicine and herbs on line at reduced prices and ha... read more

Beware of.... Creature Comfort Veterinary Clinic in Oakland. It's a total rip-off!!!! They charge "holistic" prices but the approach to many things is the same as at any other vet's office. For example: they charge $247 for a rabies titer test, whereas other vets charge between $65-110 (most expensive I could find after calling around), and all blood samples are sent to the same lab in Kentucky(the only one in the US), with the lab charging around $30 to the vet. Also, holistic to me means that the procedure or service neede... read more

Find another I would think twice before coming here. While I did get some decent information, it was really not much more than my primary vet. Just explained slightly differently. I also felt the vet was speaking AT me rather to me and she was not interested in engaging in discussion with me. In addition, only one staff member was genuinely friendly (I think this is a good measure of any business). I was particularly disappointed by their prescription and dispensing practices. A nutritional supplement was "prescribed" for my... read more

Great alternative care My cat recieved some injuries that caused serious nerve damage to his rear quarters, leaving him incontinant. While he wan't cured, the accupuncture session he recieves has helped us both so much. He has far fewer accidents, and rarely has didfficulty with constipation anymore. I'm not sure he could have stayed inside without this help. They're the best.
