Crazy Tomato is our favorite pizza in J.C. I'm not quite sure which restaurant the previous reviewer visited, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Crazy Tomato in Johnson City. We are frequent diners and have always had our food served fresh, hot, and delicious by a competent staff. The restaurant is clean and just underwent some renovations. Crazy Tomato has fresh crusts and ingredients, locally made salad dressings, and very good pasta dishes. They are inexpensive and a great place to take a family, group, or even a date. Great calzones!!! Crazy Tomatoes is a cute, casual Italian restaurant. We usually go to the one in Kingsport on Ft. Henry Drive, but they have the same menu. They have pizza, subs, calzones, salads, etc. We usually get the calzones. They are really good. They are the softer, doughier calzones. Service is always quick and friendly. They bring you bread with marinara sauce while you wait on your food. The kids always get a piece of cheese pizza, which is really good too!
Great Pizza This little restaurant has fantastic pizza, great service and very nice atmosphere. I had the White Pie with Spinach, and it was great- chewy crust, lots of cheese, good-quality olive oil, garlic and fresh spinach. The prices are good, and the restaurant is cute, if a little cramped. They have a nice patio outside, for dining alfresco. We will deinitely eat here again.
Manager/Owner is ajoke The food is okay, but the manager/owner is an egotistical jerk. I will never go back due to the unprofessionalism of this so called "businessman."
Just Plain Bad # By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/09 Umm.... let's see normally I would not offend anyone about their cooking, but I am an absolute pizza fan, but come on guys my family and I ate there last night and it was horrid. I rarely even buy a frozen pizza that I do not like but it was tasteless and just no good. It tasted like someone had not rinsed the suds off of a drinking glass ugh.... Actually I have never written a review for a restaurant at all, but this just could not go with out saying. I think a lot of these... read more
love pizza, I'm a yankee I have lived in Johnson City, TN for 6 years. My husband and I have been eating at the Crazy Tomato for 4 years. It isn't bad pizza but not as good as you would get in the northern states!! I DO NOT like the manager and I DO NOT like that the waitresses wear short skirts. SO short that you can see just about everything they own!! I understand that the economy stinks but it is pretty bad to force your waitresses to wear slutty clothes to improve business. I will NOT be eating there anymore. I will be ... read more
Review The location in Kingsport is less crowed to me the food is good but i don't like sitting in the dark to eat and there prices have gone up some...If your a regular at Johnson City location you get waited on quicker and better service. Not impressed with at the Johnson City location and let's not even start about the parking there....
The food is good, but the service was horrible. We got there on Valentine's day before the crowds were there. We were seated immediately. That was about 5:50 to 5:55pm. Two couples were seated in our area AFTER we were and they not only had their drink orders and food orders taken, they had bread at the table. Finally at 6:04 a man came to get our drink orders. At 6:07, he took our food order. 6:14 We finally got bread at the table. 6:30 we got our food, only part of it was not even what we ordered. I also asked for more bre... read more
