I experienced a moderately severe compound ankle fracture from slipping on black ice. Dr. Lareau set my ankle back in place and put a steel plate on the other side of it to make sure it was strong. I am elderly and a diabetic, so this was a very scary injury and bone healing could have been a problem. I am happy to say my ankle healed extremely well with no drainage or infection.
