Dr Shrift has been my toddler son’s pediatrician since birth. When I had to bring him in at two weeks old for an emergency visit and Dr Shrift wasn’t available, a different doctor at the same practice told me to limit his formula due to reflux. She refused to listen to my observations in the following weeks as my son screamed his head off constantly. Dr. Shrift has an atrocious bedside manor. He talks down to you, comes across very stern and rude. I think someone should remind him he is being paid to do his job so shouldn't act as if he is being put out when evaluating a sick child brought in by a concerned parent!!
He argued with my wife about vaccinations (we do vaccinate our kids, so I don't know why he was arguing), but then he didn't actually listen to her concerns, or even examine my son. Later, we talked to the office manager and she said he had put lots of entries in his chart detailing an examination that we know he never perfomed (because we were there, and he never even looked at him). So, he completely fabricated the chart.
I had to give one star. Couldn’t give none. Doesn’t belong in pediatrics. Try a retirement home where they can’t hear how horrible you are treating them
Excellent doctor. He's cared for my son since he was an infant. He's now 13 and we still go to Dr. Shrift with all his medical issues or concerns.
This physician should not be a pediatrician. Very disappointed with his lack of questions and lack of addressing patient concerns that could point to a differential diagnosis. Physician behaves arrogantly and is disrespectful to his young patients. While speaking to parent, physician faced computer with his back to the parent & patient. Very poor social manners. My perception of his "lack of concern" for his patients may indicate a lack of competency.
Dr. Shrift has cared for all three of my children over 21 years. He has come into the office on a day when they weren't even open to care for my child and has been easily reached via phone when I have needed to speak with him. He has completed all forms my children have needed in a timely manner. He truly cares and is an excellent pediatrician.
