RecommendedDuring my residence in S.F. Noe Valley, I was able to visit this dynamic store and purchase my first stain glass window from Dan in 1977. This piece is a beautiful man in the moon, set among the stars.. I'm back in California and will visit this location and hope to enroll in the workshop asap....
A happy discovery for me eight years ago. Dan Gamaldi, the artist/proprietor/teacher is a marvel. The two hours, 30 minutes I spend there each Saturday, surrounded by talented, creative people, are something I look forward to all week!
Dan has many decades of experience as a craftsman and a teacher. He's a thoughtful instructor who will help you realize your vision if you come in with an idea, and he'll help guide your design if you're not sure what you want to make. One thing I really appreciate about Dan is that he doesn't limit his students. Some people come in with really ambitious first projects. Dan will advise on the best way to execute something, and he might suggest ways of simplifying a project to make it more manageable, but I've never seen him ... read more
Years ago, Dan taught me the art of stained glass. I made some beautiful pieces that I still treasure today! I highly recommend Cradle of the Sun and Dan if you are looking for a unique piece as a gift or for your home, or you want to learn the art yourself. You won't be disappointed!!
