Brought in a laptop I was having trouble servicing, which had a busted plastic RAM holding arm that could probably have been glued back on. They didn't even try to open it or take a look at the RAM slot which required the removal of a grand total of two screws and a plastic cover. Was just told that it was a mainboard part and that it couldn't be salvaged, and that the contacts/pins were probably bent (they weren't, as I found a workaround for the missing RAM arm later and the RAM is working just fine.
