Everyone is friendly and I highly recommend Dr Belzar, however unless you have an 8 am appt, dont bother showing up on time for your appt. I am usually admitted 30 min after my appt time. I have been ontime and even 15 min early in hopes to not waste my time waiting but it just does not work, I end up waiting 45 min instead of 30.
Pathetic. I got there five minutes after opening and there were already 10 people waiting (they must have known of the lab's inefficiency). There was nobody to greet and advise you, just a "take a number" dispenser. The lone person intake person was taking 10 minutes or more per patient. Not having a hour and a half to wait just to see if I had a standing order for a pre-annual physical, I gave up an left. This instance was not unusual as wait times there are always long.
I have had blood tests drawn early in morning (especially when fasting overnite) or mid-day, and always find the customer service and professionalism to be top notch. Less crowded mid-day. Also they open Saturday morning. I am generally in and out within 20 minutes. The person drawing the blood pays careful attention to procedures, is very sterile and doesn't hurt when the needle goes in. I have Medicare and AARP supplemental, so I never pay anything for this excellent service.
I have had two blood tests at this site. I was bruised after the first draw, but the second time, I was battered. Two weeks later, my arm is still purple/yellow, swollen and extremely painful, after a one-tube draw. The phlebotomist clearly needs to be retrained to draw blood without bruising the patient. I have never had this problem with blood work in the past.
Lab is very nice. Paul, Ruth and the front desk team is extremely talented and professional.
