Pretty good little grocery store. If you've ever been to any of the smaller grocery stores in Philly, Cousins wont really surprise you. I haven't perused their produce that closely, but it always looks pretty fresh as I head to the frozen foods. I mostly go for random school supplies and meats. They have a good selection of Spanish and Arab favorites.
Get Bulk Halal Meat! Cousins has a halal meat section, and a small middle eastern section where you can get a few hard to find items such as tahini paste....you can also purchase halal meat by the case!
Huge market in the 'hood Cousins is a strange phenomenon of the urban grid, sitting smack in the middle of Germantown Ave. (You must pass through the parking lot to continue following it on the other side.) A HUGE Goya section, a Halal section, just a few hippie/organic items (Toms toothpaste, organic eggs), and great prices. Can't beat Cafe Aguila if you like dark-roasted coffee; brick packs run about $1.50 Mad cheap collard greens. Always busy evenings and on weekends. Lots of fully-loaded shopping carts.
