I went today for a regular cleaning at which point the hygienist told me that the dentist recommended a “deep” cleaning vs a regular cleaning. I explained that I appreciate the recommendation but I only wanted a regular cleaning, at which point I was told that the hygienist could not go against the doctor and I would only be able to do a “deep” cleaning.
