I have been waiting since March 2015 for this company to refund the overpayment I made in a check form. It would be a breakdown for four years. The wrong territory was entered for me. but still they refuse to address the issue or refund the money.

One of their insured hit my parked car on a hit and run. when I put in a claim they told me I should accept 50% liability because their insured is not returning their call because the damage is only about $500. What a joke small claims court here I come.

I had an incident in which I had to make a claim. It was overall positive. I was hit in a parking garage and Countrywide took care of everything within a few days after I took my car in for appraisal and got a loaner. Last year I went to a higher limits policy and was pleased to find that the rate was better than Geico and Progressive despite my prior claim!

their claim dep handler's the absolute worst. tryed speakin with : gennel, besse cazara, henry, and supervisor eric. i had to call their underwriting dept, gentalman by the name of jeff was good and helpful on my questions. i filed my crash report online ok. i baked an ate a whole pizza in time i wasted wit claim dep. low prems. -- dkl

i have been with them for 10 years, 25/50 policy. my broker offered me a great rate with them. everything is fine. havent had to file a claim yet *knocks on cement*

i like their radio ad ... countywide on yourside.::O) so i got my insurance from my broker, who is a long time and trusted friend. i used to have Farmers/Zurich/Century but they are insaney obnoxious to its own insureds, try getting a reasonable offer out of them on a claim for uninsured motorist (UM) benefits, and they like to screw their insureds on PIP benefit claims also, so he recommended countrywide. so yes, it turns out that when i had an accident with countrywide, i learned that Farmers is not the only insurance comp... read more

Good premiums for the coverage, my only experience with customer service was to report a claim but i used their website to do this which netted me a good response. i have heard good and bad about country- wide auto, but the bad seems to be from people who aren't honest. i know because i work in insurance (accident and health, not auto), and insurance is highly regulated so it's hard to cheat. the people who don't get paid usually did something bad (can we say fraud!!?) only downfall is their website. CWI is one of the best insurance company within NYC. They are the main reason why you want to have a company like this insure you. They defend you in everyway an insurance company should to keep the rates low instead of just settling to pay bogus claims then increase the rates for everyone. Why should a carrier easily pay a claim then increase premiums so everyone else pay in the long run.
