The hotel was closed for renovations. We've had this booked for 2 months. We were told they started in April. Furious after traveling hours to get here only to be told "we've been closed since April". No one even offered to help out. Very unprofessional for not contacting or allowing anyone to book during this time.
If I could give negative stars I would. Booked a trip to Helen and had reservations here 6+ months ahead of time through very popular and common hotel service Booking.com. My family and I drove over eight hours with young children only to arrive here and find it closed down. When I called, a very rude lady picked up and said “they’d been closed since April and had called everyone. Booking was aware.” Which is very much a lie. I got no notification whatsoever of this. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this hotel. Despite booking months in advance through Booking.com and being aware of some negative reviews, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon arrival on April 22, 2026, after a long drive from Florida, I discovered the hotel was under construction and closed. I'm going to give this hotel the lowest stars allowed. I had reservations for April 22-24 of 2026. On April 17 I get an email "we're sorry you'll not be staying with us, we hope to serve you in the future, your reservation has been canceled by Barbara" I flew into a panic so 5 days before my stay, "Barbara" canceled my reservation?! I called the hotel over and over, it would ring about 10 times and disconnect.
