Stayed for two nights and it was lovely. The room was clean and comfy and I enjoyed breakfast. Staff was polite, helpful and prompt. Lots of good food within walking distance. I usually don't stay in hotels when in Richmond but needed one in this case and I quite enjoyed having a quiet space to return to at the end of the day. Right off Broad street so there is a lot that you can get to easily if driving and buses if you are without car.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is tasty and nicely prepared. The breakfast crew went out of their way to help our grandchildren. The night staff has been very helpful and patient. The beds are comfortable. Our AC unit is very noisy. The pool area is clean. We will stay here again on our next visit to Richmond.
The lady at front desk was ignorant. Ignored guests at the door, stood there 10 min waiting to be checked in. I think they let homeless people loiter in the main lobby. Unpleasant and ghetto atmosphere. Is it so hard to get people to not be miserable. And let drug addicts chill bothering people upon entering.
Country Inn and Suites gives you consistency: free breakfast with waffle maker and other hot items, exercise room, small indoor pool, and basic rooms. At this location service was excellent- kind and helpful. What you need after a long drive. I also needed a nice bed, which I got. Location was near a lot of chicken places and served by a number of pizza places, but you need to travel a few miles more for restaurant variety.
