This guy is one of the most competent appraisers in the market. He knows the market and area and gives an independent analysis of home value, consistent with the ethical state definition of an appraiser. He assures the homeowner received a fair market value based on recent sales and doesn’t provide a value just to assure a risky loan goes through. I’d for sure hire him in future.
Tone deaf to the realities of the market and myopic in comps. They appraised our very nice home in an outstanding community for $36,000 less (about 13%) than the contracted price (and sites like Zillow and Realtor), which almost vaporized the contract! Thankfully, the buyer and everyone else involved knew better and the deal went through with only a modest adjustment that Country Creek Appraisals should be liable for. I will balk at seeing this name on any proposed appraisal in the future and insist on a different agent.
