I had a cervical laminectomy preformed by Dr. Cotler and his team. I believe his knowledge and skill level were excellent. The end result was favorable but the journey was not. I spent 4 months in a neck brace with numerous follow up visits. The recovery was to be expected but his arrogance and lack of empathy were shocking. His bedside manor was terrible. Dr. Cotler did 360 degree fusion on my husband 27 years ago. He also has scoliosis. Dr. Cotler corrected that as much as possible. My husband followed his recovery plan to the letter. He recovered well and was able to go to college @ 38 y.o. and graduate. He gas been back to work since then and is still working at 64 y.o. Dr. Cotler is great. If we ever need spinal care again, we will definitely consult Dr. Cotler.

After a serious accident I saw several orthopedics. Cotler did a three level 360 fusion of lumbar. No complications. He isn’t careful about feelings but he’s honest smart and right. He fixed me nearly twenty years ago and I’m more active now than before. I wouldn’t consider going to anyone else. Not a single surgeon in the Fondren Group felt they could get me back to work. I was back within a year and now fully retired. Thankyou for all your work

I went to Dr. Cotler with lumbar issues after a misdiagnosis by a radiologist on my MRI. Dr. Cotler totally explained my MRI and my new diagnosis. He even recommended me for a thoracic MRI due to a suspicious "area" on my MRI. He listened to all of my complaints, thoroughly explained my problem, and discussed our plan of action. At this time, we are just watching my problem as I am not a candidate for surgery at this point. He previously treated a brother with much success.

Disreputable Dr.! I went to him for a workers comp visit. He took X-rays, did a quick exam and his only recomemndation was to get a Fitbit and watch my diet. He did not refer me to get physical therapy or an MRI or a steroid injection. He said I had degenerative disc disease and that's all. A few months later, I went to a more competent Dr. who had me get an MRI. Turns out I have 5 herniated discs and nerve damage!! Why didnt Dr Cotler catch that? That is a pretty major misdiagnosis. AVOID!

I would recommend Dr, Cotler to family and friends. Dr. Cotler is an excellent Dr.and straight to the point. Ihave been under his care for over a year.He did surgery on my back on May 18 of last year.

In my search Dr. Cotler kept appearing & his staff is a great representation of him.Upon my visits he took time to explain my options. At 59, this was a surgery I had to put thought into. I'm thankful I chose Cotler, he's straight to the point, he explains what is needed for your recovery & expects you to follow his directions for your surgery to be a success, I find it to be 50/50 relationship, you must be devoted to your recovery I would strongly recommend Dr. Cotler. I would use him again

I would highly recommend Dr. Cotler. He never pressured me to have surgery, just told me my diagnosis and the decision was totally mine. I did have surgery and everything went smoothly. He explains everything to you, has time for your questions and makes you feel comfortable with your decision. Great office staff!

Dr Cotler Has operated on me twice and my son once and did a great job every time. We both walked away pain free and very satisfied with the job he did on us. Him and his staff are also very friendly.
