Holy crap. Made a repair appointment for today at 2. called about 30 times before I got through. Dropped it off early at about 1030. They said that they would call me when it was done. At 5 I realized that I hadn't Heard anything from Costco. I got on the phone and started calling to see if my vehicle was ready. They did not secure a hubcap correctly on one of my tires. It came off between the tire shop and home. The hubcaps were less than 2 years old. Now I am out 60 bucks to order a new one.
I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled tire rotation, and they took over 2 hours to get me out the door. If I had my own tools nearby it would’ve been a 25 minute job.
Shipping to AK is claimed to take 2-3 weeks for tires. Actual was 6 weeks. Appointment was made for a 30 min time block, but actually took 2.5 hours. During installation, the service team broke a lugnut bolt off, and informed me to go get it fixed somewhere else, and to then come back and speak with a manager for reimbursement.
I suppose I can see why there are so many bad reviews, as they seem quite busy and staff are stretched thin. However, my experience was overall very good. I bought a new set of tires on Costco.com, they were delivered quicker than expected. My only issue in the whole process was getting an appointment made to install them. I couldn’t do it online within 14 days (when you risk having the tires sent back), and it was impossible to reach someone on the phone.
