Good times – Cosmo's is the best place to be on a Thurs. night (latin night) The stage is converted to a dance floor and everyone is dancing to great salsa, meringue and reggaeton music. Go upstairs for drinks cuz the downstairs bar is too crowded. Free to get in and a guaranteed good time.
Ultra-hip lounge and tapas bar ups Charlotte's cool factor. – In Short This is uptown's most downtown restaurant: black-clad servers, blaring techno music, abstract art on the walls. It's like Charlotte bypassed its Atlanta phase and moved straight to New York City. The eclectic menu features tapas--everything from dim sum to calamari--wood-fired pizza and made-to-order sushi. Two bars, a circular downstairs bar and the more intimate Thirsty Camel Lounge, add to the scene.
It's okay – The bartenders tend to be slow at times, but 1/2 off martini nights are a good time. Age tends to be mid 20's and up.
Sexy, not Snobby – Classy without being pretentious, there's no cover, usually minimal wait but still a pretty full house, great crowd, sexy bartenders, two levels... it's one of our favorite places to go when we don't have any specific destination. More than once we've gone intending to start the night there but finishing it there too. Yechh – This place might be OK if it fired its management staff. watch out for the big, dumb looking-guy (whoops, there is no monopoly on rudeness and stupidity here. You may have to look around a bit). And no, I'm not nor ever have been an employee of Cosmos. I just had the worst restaurant/bar experience of my life in the place.
10 – Awesome atmosphere and GREAT cosmopolitans! I would definitely return to this bar/restaurant.
