Don’t get swept away by the remodel. I moved out in February and feel it’s important to warn others. This place was a nightmare. We dealt with inflated fees, bug problems, vehicle damage, poor security, and terrible customer service. Our car was broken into and totaled—management said there was nothing they could do. My wife’s gas was siphoned, and a package was stolen by someone connected to maintenance, with proof provided, yet still no help. Pest control was useless despite repeated complaints. It’s a pretty great apartment complex and decently priced only downside in my opinion is the parking, for covered parking it is 30 dollars a month and if you want an uncovered space that’s 20 dollars a month which isn’t horrible definitely seen apartments charge worse, the management is impeccable and they actually do care! Maintenance man Donnie is the best and he actually knows what he’s talking about!
Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You We lived here for about 4 years. While we initially enjoyed it, things went downhill—especially after the major renovations. Rent kept going up, and we were charged for amenities that were constantly broken or dirty. Both gates were nonfunctional the entire time we lived there, yet we paid for “security.” The gym isn’t even inside the complex and has no cameras—plus the equipment is unsafe and not anchored down. I lived here end of 2011-2012. I joined the Navy in 2012 and went to the office to take myself off the lease. I was taken off the lease with no issues. However, my ex-boyfriend and his friend remained and finished up their end of the lease. They incurred a charge. They didn’t pay it off and for whatever reason, Dana Point apartments (as they were initially called), also sent my name to the collections agency even though I was officially no longer on the lease.
