I love the area. It’s honestly pretty decent and the neighborhood is usually pretty quiet. I’ve lived here for almost 5 years now and I’ve just seen the quality of everything go downhill. There’s 0 communication with maintenance and when they do have you scheduled for the day, they never end up showing up. The staff are super sweet people but that only goes so far when maintenance isn’t showing up or packages are constantly going missing. It’s okay. The apartments and staff are nice enough. The amenities and maintenance are lacking. In November, my hot water heater for heat and hot water went out. For five days, I came home, in the snow, having been told it was fix, to it not being fixed. No screen in the window at move in on the third floor. I can hear the notification beep of my neighbor’s phone while trying to sleep. The smoke alarm battery alert started going off after four ten hour days. I couldn’t sleep. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our time at Cortland Westminster. Sadly, we had to move out, but we were lucky to find an incredible place to call home for a year and a half. The area is perfect, with tons of shops and food places around. The staff at the front office and maintenance always showed up for any issue. The Positives: The rent is affordable for a large, spacious unit in a generally quiet area. When requested, the maintenance team was quick and responsive. The Negatives: Move-in Condition: The unit was filthy upon arrival. We dealt with an AC failure on day one, a gas leak from the water heater, a clogged bathtub, and disgusting air filters. I wish I had better things to say since the apartments are in a nice area. But from day one there were major issues. For sure check your air intake and filters upon move in. Our unit was filthy. To make matters worse the AC stopped working the first week me moved in. Cortland let us borrow a small unit while they ordered a new AC unit. But the small portable unit was broken so they had to lend us yet another portable unit. The other reviews are very true about the poor insulation of the units.
