RecommendedEvery time I'm in the area I go to Cortez Kitchen for a grouper sandwich. Excellent! This time also tried the gator tail and it was also very good. We love the rustic atmosphere and very often they have live music. Only complaint is they allow smoking since most of the dining is open air.

Didn’t even wait to get our food order. The WORST experience ever. Our waitress, who waited 15 minutes to even come get our drink order, was extremely rude. Told us to “hurry up and decide what we wanted to eat because we decided to come eat 15 minutes before closing.” Threw our menus down and basically made us feel very uncomfortable. We had gotten there right before 8:30, plenty of time to get our order (we already knew what we wanted because it was highly recommended).

Royal red shrimp was excellent, hush puppies rocked, Billy Rice was very entertaining! It was pretty crowded but people were dancing and singing along and having a great time. Service was a bit frantic but with it being as busy as it was, understandable and not really an issue. Had a great time!

I enjoy eating at this historic location. This is authentic commercial fishing atmosphere with local customers and salty fishermen taking a lunch break.
