The Cornett family began raising Christmas trees in the Mountain Dale Community (Vilas, NC) around 1979 when Clint Cornett planted his first field of Fraser Fir trees. Dale Cornett has now taken over his father's fields of trees and has also leased several area farms on which he has established Fraser Fir tree plantations. We have gone 2 years in a row and love this farm! The people there are great and make you feel right at home. We got to take a mule drawn wagon ride up to pick out tree then were able to enjoy free hot cocoa, cider and cookies while they loaded our tree. They have a cute little shop as well with hand made items for sale. We lucked out and the day we came this year, Santa happened to be there. First time at this farm and we have been beyond pleased. They made us feel right at home and were so friendly. The young man who cut out tree today had never done it before. We didn’t catch his name, but he did a great job. We put our tree in our house about 30 minutes ago and it’s all we can smell. It is by far the most fragrant one we’ve ever had. Thanks for making our holiday special and we will certainly see you next year! A very Merry Christmas to your family from ours.

We took our first trip to CD Tree Farm today and loved it! Everything felt so homey and welcoming. The owner even met us personally at the gate.
